Biography
My Experience
Dance
I first started dancing at the age of 9, the experience I have had with dance consists of:
I first took part in parade dancers in Durrington for a cheerleading group called “Worthing Panthers”, I would perform stunts / lifts and small phrases of movement
I started taking part in short school assemble performances and talent shows
I was part of a charity dance competition called “Red Cross”. My middle school (Orchards Middle School) managed to get to the final, however, we finished second but all the money raised during the competition was sent to the red cross charity.
I became a dance captain and therefore, this helped develop my choreographic skills and I also got to interact and help in younger years dance lessons at my middle school
Once I started high school I began taking lessons in tap and contemporary
I also took part in rock challenge at Durrington High School for all 4 years I was there, I took on one of the lead roles in year 11
I also helped GCSE dance students when they were choreographing their pieces
I have taken a few lessons in Ballet as well however, I’m not confident with my ballet technique or then genre in general
Acting
I had never thought of acting until High school when I first put in a drama lesson; I instantly enjoyed devising and learning about drama and theatre. My experience in acting consists of:
- I took part in rock challenge for 4 years at Durrington High School, I had heavily based acting parts in all 4 years
- I took Drama as a GCSE and therefore was involved in production such as, “Hood”, “Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night Time” and the “Grinch”.
- I also took part in workshops for “Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night Time” and “Mental Health”
- I was involved in the production of “Midsummer Night’s dream”
- I performed “Tell – Tale Heart” as My GCSE drama piece
- I took part in “Romeo and Juliet” - I was a citizen from the city
- I was involved in a piece called “Psychosis” and performed it in front of a couple of classes of younger students
Singing / Music
This is the area I have the least experience in and therefore, is my worst area out of all three. The experience I have in singing and music consists of:
- I took lessons in the Cello at the end of my last year at Laurels First school and then carried the lessons on for half a year
- In my middle school (Orchards Middle School) I took part in a choir for 2 years
- I was involved In Christmas Carol Concert’s for two years at The Orchards Middle School
- I began to learn the saxophone at the Orchards Middle School and carried on outside of school for a couple of terms
