The only major problem we struggled with was that no one really wanted to be the leader of the group. Sarah set the task for the group but didn't really want to be a leader and therefore, for a while, none of us were really sure what we were meant to be doing and were a little bit lost at the start.
When performing with this group I found it quite easy to keep in time because we all had an idea of the counts we used and what are movement material was. Our spatial awareness was very good apart from at the end of the phrase where I was too far in front of the group so before I slide back, I had to take a few steps before sliding.
9th January
In this task we didn't really struggle working as a group because we all listened and worked together. However, we had a problem with was when developing the phrase we would work in the duets we started in and not talk therefore, there was a lack of communication between all of us. This meant we found it difficult to explain ideas. In addition, everyone in the group did listen eventually to everyones ideas.
I found performing in this group slightly harder because only two people were giving ideas and the others following so therefore, half the group weren't sure about the timing and movement. The group were not in time when we performed the first part of the phrase this is because I feel we never planned out our counts or worked as a full group together and that caused confusion. Our spatial awareness was good as a group however, there was parts of the phrase such as, when me and Harriet performed the unison section standing, we had to take steps back so we didn't barrel roll into the others on the floor.
15th January
One of the big problems when working on this task was trying to get other members of the groups ideas. For example, when one of our tasks was set, to make a travelling phrase each, many members of the group, including me, didn't want to be the first to go and I also feel we didn't want to get it wrong and therefore, weren't sure what do when making our own phrases. However, when we finally created them and recorded them all together, you can see that each phrase is different and each phrase shows our own dance style, mine is very fast and gestural and it is seen in my phrase. Another challenge we faced was being able to think of gestures to go in our gestural phrase that related to the topic of wolves and the jungle. Apart from this we worked well as a group and i found it quite easy to create with the people in my group.
Performing with others in this specific task was fine, when performing in a group like this i am able to see from other people where I can make improvements such as, my flexibility and I also work harder to stay with the group when considering timing and spatial awareness. Our spatial awareness was okay, there were a few minor problems however, once we have rehearsed these phrases a couple more times I feel we will move more as a group.
22nd January
When working together as a group to choreograph this phrase i feel it was okay and the only challenges we faced as a group were not being able to think of many movements that fit the task (Low centre of gravity). Therefore, we were just repeating our selves when showing our mini phrase at the start however, we did manage to create a phrase in the end. Another challenge we faced was that only half the group were putting ideas forward and the rest just followed. I swayed between both, sometimes i was giving ideas and other times i just agreed and followed so the process of creating this piece took longer than it needed to.
Performing with others in this task was difficult because i was unsure on what i was doing as you can probably see in the video and therefore, my timing was wrong with the group and my spatial awareness was very bad. I also tend to pull faces when I'm not sure what I'm doing and if i do it wrong and these are thing I know that I need to improve on. In addition, i feel once i know the movement better the timing and spatial awareness will come with it.
5th February
In this session, when we set ourselves the task we were unsure if we would get it done however, we did and it was really good. Sarah and I worked very well as a pair this session because we both listened to each others ideas and we both contributed a fair amount of ideas. Both of us have similar thought processes and dance styles so i found it quite easy to work with Sarah. In addition, we didn't really face any challenges apart from trying to fit the phrase with the music.
Im finding performing with others good, i was able to keep in time with Sarah and the music in this section. Our spatial awareness was also very good however, there was a couple of times where i rolled to far to the left and almost rolled into Sarah.
I suggested quite a lot of ideas and so did Sarah but we both also developed each others ideas to make them better.
22nd February

In this lesson, i struggled to create with my group this week because i feel like my ideas weren't listened to. Eloise set the task of creating a circular motif and we started to work well as a group and then i feel like my ideas weren't listened to or weren't given the chance. However, we did create a great phrase that works well and fits the creative task.
On the other hand, i really enjoyed performing with my group this week because we had good spatial awareness however, our timing was not the best because we were all unsure of the movement and where this section would fit in the piece.
I did suggest some ideas but like i said before i don't feel my ideas were listened to but i feel like i could have suggested more ideas to.
26th March
Today we split the creative task in to three parts so we could all choreography each part. This meant we all got are own say in the section and all our ideas were all listened to and all tried out before making a final decision. However , the only challenge we faced was deciding what idea we liked the bet because we had quite few good ideas.
Once again i enjoyed performing with my group and i suggested a lot ideas however, i feel like i could suggested more.
16th April
I really enjoyed performing with my group because our spatial awareness was very good because we needed it to be so we didn't cross pathways. When creating with the group we all suggested to each other different ideas we could incorporate in our solos. We didn't really face any challenges because we were all working individually. I suggested a few ideas to other members of my group however, next time i would like to suggest more ideas.
30th April
We didn't create any new material this week because it was our last rehearsal before the show so i can't comment on how it was to create with my group this week.
However, I found perming with my group this week okay, i struggle with certain sections which means i struggle to keep in time but our spatial awareness is good apart from when we do the circular motif and both me and Sarah end up in the wrong place. So we need to ensure are spacing is fine when we do the tech run.
I didn't suggest many ideas because we didn't create anything but i did suggest checking spacing when we do the tech run because in some sections its a bit dodgy.
